The factory brackets are made of thin sheet metal with only 4 points of contact on each side of the case. High torque situations or simply letting out the clutch too fast in low range can cause the mounts to bend, which in turn causes pulling or breaking of the soft aluminum transfer case. In addition, the factory brackets attach to the frame itself in only 3 places creating additional vulnerability.
